These 5 guitars will be on hand for demonstration:
The Chelsea- This is a small, comfortable playing guitar made in the concept of Martins’ older O and OO models. Built with 13 frets to the body, and upper bout soundport, and vintage appointments. The soundport opens up the tone and volume to the player, as well as the audience. The Chelsea has a balanced tone with exceptional highs and lows for a small guitar. This makes a great fingerstyle player or to just sit around the house and play.
The Nick Lucas- This model is based on a 1929 Gibson Nick Lucas Special that I had the priviledge to do repair work on. It is very close to the Chelsea in body shape, but differs in depth by being over 4 1/2″ deep along most of the body. A smaller soundhole makes for a greater midrange than normal. The NL is perfect for oldtime, folk, and blues music.
The Madison -This is a new design, based on a conversation with Canadian luthier Mario Proulx about his OM/D guitar. The body size is a small dreadnaught shape, with a depth and neck dimensions similiar to an OM. A smaller body makes for easier holding and playing, but still gives focus to the bass as well as accenting the highs, along with volume and tone.
The Lexington -A mid-sized guitar based on the great Martin OM of the late 1930′s. It’s size is between an OM and A OO. With it’s tuned top and premium woods, it has proven to be the go-to guitar for a variety of players.
The Jefferson- This is a fingerstylist guitar. The Small Jumbo / Auditorium style body with a cutaway and longer ( 25.7″ ) scale length make it a great choice for dropped and alternate tunings. The shallower body and light construction make for exceptional tone and ease of playing.
